Some people think how can people do this kind of stuff?  It all goes back to the 1400's and 1500's.  Whites had control of the international slave trade which consisted of whites.  The whites treated the blacks like dirt and they didn't do anything back so they thought they were weak, and this was passed on from generation to generation.  So now the whites of the 1950's have assumed the roles of their ancestors. 

I don't think it was such a good idea for the president to take away the 101st Airborne.

Melba is lucky to have a personally assigned soldier like Danny to protect her while she is at Central High.

It was a courageous act that Elizabeth had committed standing in the center of the Maelstrom that was the mob of whites and repeatedly trying to get into Central High. 

It seems that no matter what the whites do Law Enforcement will never oblige to subdue the chaos.

I do not really like this book at all.  I find it mind numbingly boring.  

I think it is an amazing thing that the Little Rock Nine were able to use their friendship as a shield to deflect all of the threats and insults that were thrown their way.
